The Director of Information Technology is responsible for leading the organization’s technology strategy, overseeing IT operations, and ensuring that all systems, services, and infrastructure support business objectives. This role combines technical expertise with strategic leadership guiding the IT function in security, innovation, efficiency, and operational excellence while remaining a hands on technical contributor.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and implement IT strategies, policies, and best practices aligned with company goals.
- Collaborate with executives and department leads to understand technology needs and advise on solutions that support organizational growth.
- IT Operations & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and reliability of all IT systems, hardware, software, and networks.
- Implement and ensure reliable data-powered reporting, analytics and emerging AI cases.
- Cybersecurity, Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure network security, data protection, and defenses against cybersecurity threats as well as oversee disaster recovery, business continuity, and backup procedures.
- Evaluate and enforce compliance with federal, industry, and internal security requirements
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, supervise, and mentor IT staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
- Foster a collaborative, high‑performing IT culture with a focus on innovation, customer service, and continuous improvement
- Project & Budget Management
- Develop and oversee the IT department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
- Direct and manage IT-related projects to ensure timely, on-budget, and efficient delivery.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- IT vendor management including procurement, contract negotiations and performance oversight
- Coordinate technology requirements and deliverables across departments and stakeholders.
- Policy, Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, documentation standards, and access controls.
- Identify vulnerabilities, risks, and opportunities for improvement across systems and operations.
Job Complexity:
Works on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Ensures budgets, schedules, and performance requirements are met. Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas and/or customers.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
Manages the IT organization for the entire company
Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Requires a BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum of 7+ years MIS/IT management experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience with mid tier ERP systems such as SAP, including the implementation and integration of the accounting, distribution, and manufacturing processes is required.
- Knowledge of GMP to ensure software systems, data integrity, and automated processed meet quality safety and regulatory standards.
- Proven leadership, project management, analytical and communications skills
- Experience in a Med Tech/Life Sciences company is preferred.
- Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, with ability to evaluate relevant trends with organizational needs.
- Strong collaboration, leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and lead others.
The salary range provided is based on the Company’s reasonable estimate of the base salary pay range for this position at the time of posting. Actual base pay is determined by several factors relevant to the position, including skills, competencies, experience, education, and geographic location.
