Engineering Administrator

Location: Franklin, MA

Summary of Responsibilities:

Assist R&D Engineering Team with product specifications and realization activities for assigned projects in accordance with Anika Quality System. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is periodically exposed to moving mechanical parts.

  • Works with various departments of the organization including Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Quality & Regulatory to effectively support new and ongoing product development projects
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation including Product specifications, label specifications, engineering drawings and bill of materials
  • Create and process Engineering Change Notifications
  • Check documentation for clarity, completeness, and conformance to standards
  • Provide mechanical design support for new or existing products
  • Coordinate team / project meetings
  • General information coordinating within the department
  • Compile and provide information for various performance and status reports related to engineering activities
  • Submit & track activities related to Purchase Requisitions & Purchase Orders in SAP
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors on various projects
  • Perform clerical duties that may include filing, proofreading and other general office needs
  • Input information into designated databases or other recordkeeping systems
  • Provide administrative support for engineering department
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Two-year college or technical degree, preferably engineering or other technical field or equivalent work experience
  • Internship experience considered
  • Understanding of engineering drawings, dimensioning and tolerancing a plus.
  • Excellent written communications skills to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations 
  • Ability to calculate figures, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Willingness to learn Design Controls, Quality Systems, and Current Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to organize and priorities multiple work assignments
  • Ability to work independently and effectively function as a team player

Desired Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • ERP system experience a plus
